Mimi desparately wants to play hockey
like her older brothers,
but that wasn’t something that girls did in her town, ever!
Instead,
Mimi’s Mom puts her in figure skating
with her older sister,
but still Mimi is more interested in
joining the hockey players on the other rink.
Will Mimi follow her dreams and
become a hockey player?
Along with the illustrations in the children’s book,
I have also designed
- a companion plushie doll
- a set of trading cards
- printable discussion prompts for a bookclub
- a playsheet with thematically-inspired games
I visited classrooms (kinder - 3rd) for book readings and drawing workshops.
I’ve also be a guest lecturer at Urban High School’s Children’s literature classes to share my experience and some advice for their own children’s book project.
